The London Book Fair 2018 Round Up

We take a look at the highlights from this year's book fair, and share the slides from our curated insights seminar talk on the Changing Needs of Academic Publishing.

Virtusales was back at The London Book Fair and once again the Olympia was bustling with the latest industry news, rights sales and networking events.

Virtusales was selected to take part in the official curated seminar programme, where Mark Collins, Director of Academic, presented on the Changing Needs of Academic Publishing to a full audience on The Faculty stage.

Mark Collins speaks on academic publishing

An Industry in Transition

Sharing insights from working with some of the world’s leading publishing houses, Mark considered the challenges and opportunities that academic publishers are facing, and how some of them are experimenting with new business models to capitalise on today’s changing arena. The session concluded with some case studies and examples from across the industry and key take aways for publishers navigating this changing landscape.

The talk followed on from a recent white paper published by Virtusales, which can be downloaded here.

Slides from the event can also be downloaded here.

Hay House Discuss New Global Solution

Rodney Elder, Executive Vice President North America, met with Diane Hill, Director of Sales and Operations at Hay House where they discussed a new project to roll out Biblio across the UK, US and Australia.

The UK division of Hay House are well established with BiblioLIVE and the transition to a global software system will provide the publisher with a clear picture of their entire publishing output in a centralised and streamlined system.

Virtusales Open New Office in Munich, Germany

We were also delighted to announce the opening of a new Virtusales’ office in Munich during the fair. Led by Erdem Sagiroglu, the new European office will fulfill growing demand within the region, and establishes our first mainland presence in this market. More details of this announcement can be found in our accompanying press release.

The new European office follows our further expansion in the North American market last year with a new office in New York, and we’re excited to be growing our support for publishers globally.

Once again it’s been a great book fair for all of us at Virtusales, and we’d like to thank all of our customers for making this last year such a success. If you’d like to meet with one of our publishing consultants and discuss how the Biblio suite of products can help your business, get in touch with us by emailing info@virtusales.com or visit our Events page for a full list of upcoming events.
