Kind World Publishing chooses BiblioLIVE to put its best foot forward

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

Starting as it means to go on, forthcoming children’s publisher Kind World Publishing has selected the BibioLIVE publishing suite in order to both launch and future-proof its new business, and facilitate the realisation of its aspirations – to connect the world through stories. By implementing Biblio at the company’s operational core, Kind World Publishing will instil efficiency and productivity within its digital workflows from the inception of the company:

  • Giving Kind World Publishing complete control over its title management, bibliographic metadata and ONIX feeds, contracts, right and royalties – all within the same system;

  • Facilitating the automation of essential publishing processes, thereby future-proofing the company and ensuring its agility, whatever the future may hold; and

  • Providing Kind World Publishing with the infrastructure of world-class publishing houses (including Hachette, Macmillan and Candlewick Press) to ensure efficiency and productivity from its very first steps.

The Objective

Starting up a new publishing house can be a daunting task at the best of times, let alone in the aftermath of a global pandemic. However, implementing a robust publishing system with well-defined, streamlined workflows is perhaps the most fundamental hurdle that must be jumped to really achieve your hopes and dreams for a new company.

In full-knowledge of this fact, Kind World Publishing came to Virtusales looking for an all-in-one, end-to-end solution that would future-proof its start-up business and help to free up its time to concentrate on the more creative (and frankly more exciting) aspects of a growing a publishing house and business.

Patricia Stockland, Founder of Kind World Publishing – who formerly collaborated with Virtusales when implementing change and growth initiatives at Capstone – knew precisely what she wanted and needed for her new company to blossom, and she was determined to get it right from the start:

“... I kept envisioning what it might look like to truly start with a clean slate – what could a content company do if it weren't stuck between trying to build for its future while also cleaning up its past? In a lot of ways, investing in Biblio from the outset is a gift to my future self and to KWP's trajectory.”

Patricia Stockland, Founder, Kind World Publishing

Great Expectations

By choosing Biblio, Kind World Publishing is putting its best foot forward, ensuring that it will be as dynamic and streamlined as possible in order to meet the challenges of our ever-changing industry.

Patricia explains why she chose Biblio above all the other publishing systems presently on the market and what she hopes to achieve by its use:

“[By implementing Biblio] I expect us to be able to scale quickly and pivot effectively because our title data will be complete and robust; our CR&R will be traceable and more easily exercised; and the core of our business will be built on an operational mindset that puts tools in place which create mind-space for creativity.”

Patricia Stockland, Founder, Kind World Publishing

“I am thrilled to see Kind World Publishing use BiblioLIVE. Publishing is a complicated business, no matter the size of the publisher, and BiblioLIVE will allow Kind World Publishing to have access to the same technology as the top publishers in the world - placing the company on the track to success.”

About Biblio

Biblio enables start-up companies to focus on growing their business in the sound mind that all their data, assets and essential documentation – from editorial right the way through to royalties – are being recorded and stored in a way which will better the performance of the business, and will increase effective communications (both internally and externally, with staff and business partners alike).

To boot, Biblio is proven to help publishing houses of all shapes and sizes to save time, reduce duplication of efforts and increase the access to key information and documents company-wide. The only difficulty after implementing will be deciding what to do with the time you’ve freed up!

By choosing Biblio’s comprehensive system, your publishing house will be able to:

  • manage multiple formats including books, e-books, audiobooks, packs which include non-book products, and merchandise;

  • easily maintain high-quality metadata and enhanced ONIX feeds;

  • control and record all aspects of safety-testing;

  • generate and authorise contracts (with software that enables full rights management);

  • create costings and schedules for production;

  • raise purchase orders within the Biblio system;

  • handle complex royalty calculations and payments;

  • and much, much more.
