Ohio State University Press has selected BiblioSuite cutting-edge publishing software—integrating a wide range of workflows including Product Management, Production, Contracts and Rights, Sales Analytics, and Inventory Management. The project will consolidate the press’ book and journal workflows into a single, comprehensive and centralized system, enhancing its overall operational efficiency and increasing visibility of all its publications and data across the press.

The Requirement

Replacing its unsupported, proprietary FileMaker system, Ohio State needed a versatile and visually intuitive system which would bring its departments together, empowering the publisher to both share information internally and integrate with its distributor's database at the Chicago Distribution Center.

The Solution

By choosing BiblioSuite, Ohio State is joining a community of distinguished scholarly publishers including Harvard University Press, Oxford University Press, Princeton University Press and Sage Publications, and will gain:

  • A system designed specifically to support the intricate workflows associated with both book and journal publications, enabling the press to streamline its creation of P&Ls, effectively manage its scheduling and production costs, and ensure comprehensive support for contracts and rights management.

  • Seamless transition from manuscript to publication, enabling Ohio State to centralize its entire publishing workflow by employing cohesive, efficient processes across the product lifecycle, from ideation to distribution.

  • An integrated framework for scheduling and task management across departments, enhancing internal communication and collaboration by increasing the visibility and portability of its contacts, data and assets press-wide—saving Ohio State time and resources whilst bettering its relationships with authors and researchers.

  • Integration with its distributor to ensure Ohio State can better utilize its sales files to produce, analyze and share robust sales and inventory reports which will help the press to not only optimize its book and journal program workflows, but facilitate informed decision-making and enhance its overall sales performance.

“Our selection of BiblioSuite signifies a new, strategic beginning at Ohio State University Press. We needed a modern, intuitive, forward-thinking system that would support both our books and journals workflows, and facilitate communication internally across all departments. BiblioSuite was certainly the right choice for Ohio State and we’re excited to see the impact the system and its streamlined processes will have on our productivity and bottom line.”

Tony Sanfilippo, Director, Ohio State University Press

“It’s great to welcome Ohio State to our ever-growing community of university presses. By implementing a wide range of BiblioSuite workflows, Ohio State will experience improvement in their overall operational efficiency and ability to support their mission of publishing high quality scholarly works.”
