Page Two selects BiblioSuite for enhanced author management

The logo of Oage Two Books, showing a turquoise blue circle followed by an orange circle and the publisher's name in bold, black capital letters to the right of its icon.

Turning the book publishing model on its head, Page Two offers authors full creative control over the publication of their titles and products. Based in Canada, the publisher has chosen BiblioSuite Product Management to better support its unique author relationships, customer-centric digital workflows and custom metadata management.

The Challenge:

Prior to BiblioSuite, Page Two had been storing its metadata in Google Doc spreadsheets, and was in need of a flexible, scalable system that would:

  • Facilitate enhanced author relationship management;

  • Centralize, synchronize and increase the visibility of its metadata internally;

  • Streamline and automate the sending of metadata feeds to its distributor, Macmillan and retailers; and

  • Enable better reporting on statuses and output to retailers.

The Solution:

Its unique publishing model can lead to challenges but using BiblioSuite’s flexible reporting, Page Two is in a good position to automate and share tailored feeds with its distributors and retailers to meet its customers’ respective requirements.

BiblioSuite Product Management will enable Page Two to:

  • Enhance its author relationships—providing staff with a single source of truth for all its bibliographic data, digital assets and contact information, with customer relationship management tools that increase visibility of and access to key data companywide;

  • Track and report on its authors at the contact-level—enabling Page Two’s Project Managers to store granular information about their authors’ interests, preferences, etc. for future reference and visibility internally;

  • Seamlessly integrate with third parties, including its distributors Macmillan and Raincoast, for enhanced data sharing—thereby reducing data re-entry and saving time and resources;

  • Compile and schedule comprehensive reports in a wide range of outputs—leveraging real-time data to gain valuable insights into its products’ performance and facilitate informed forecasting and decision-making; and

  • Manage, track and report on its POD titles and e-book distribution.

“Author management is so important to all of us at Page Two, and BiblioSuite was the only system that not only met but exceeded our requirements for personalization and robust contact and product data management. The BiblioSuite system, with its flexibility and scalability, and the expertise of the Virtusales team are a winning combination and we’re sure our authors and staff will be reaping the benefits in no time at all.”

Gabrielle Narsted, Director of Operations, Page Two

“Working alongside the team at Page Two to configure and optimize the publisher’s digital workflows has been really interesting due to their unique business model. We’re excited to see the myriad ways BiblioSuite will streamline their processes; fast-tracking publications, supporting creativity and enhancing efficiency company-wide.”
