Podium live with BiblioSuite’s royalties management solution for digital and audiobooks

Updated: Oct 16, 2023

Podium has chosen BiblioSuite publishing software to enhance and streamline its royalties workflows and improve the efficiency of its statement generation; helping the publisher to save time and resources, and increase its productivity companywide.

As a digital-first publisher, Podium’s primary focus is on audiobooks (with a specialty in genre fiction), however it also publishes e-books and print books. To fully meet its requirements, Podium needed a sophisticated royalties solution that would empower the publisher to manage all its processes within a single, centralized system – with support for any saleable product, and full integration with third parties, including Audible, Bookwire, Findaway, Kindle and more, to enable the automatic ingestion and collation of its sales data, from multiple sources, to calculate its royalties (for both subscriptions and online sales) and seamlessly deliver its royalties statements online.

Podium Audio chose Virtusales’ end-to-end royalties management solution – including BiblioSuite Contracts, Royalties, and the Royalty Portal – for its:

  • Flexible sales engine which enables Podium to automatically ingest its sales (for any type of product) from multiple retailers and distributors, and collate that data for easy, comprehensive reporting and royalty calculations;

  • Support of different sales methods, sales files and price types – including for audiobook subscriptions – which empowers the publisher to calculate complex royalties at a granular level, based on net value of income; and

  • Automated electronic delivery of royalty statements, ensuring that Podium can pay multiple contributors, in real-time, at the click of a button – reducing the costs associated with delivering printed statements, improving relationships with its authors and agents, and increasing the visibility and searchability of its royalties data companywide.

BiblioSuite Royalties was the perfect choice for Podium, with its ability to handle complex royalties calculations including audiobook subscriptions, and its support for any saleable product. The functionality available is fantastic and a complete game-changer for our business. We’re looking forward to seeing what other workflows BiblioSuite can help us to streamline further in future.

Jon Oxidine, COO, CFO, Podium Audio

We are excited to see Biblio being used by a company as innovative as Podium, utilizing Biblio’s sophisticated, high speed royalties workflows and sales ingestion, and look forward to working with them in future as they scale-up their use of the BiblioSuite system.
